Wish List for this summer

#1. Visit Geylang Serai Bazaar:

Nobody should miss this! This bazaar is held during Ramadan, the month of fasting according to the Islamic calendar. This year’s Ramadan Bazaar is held from 26 May (Fri) to 24 June (Sun) and same as every year, it is held at the Geylang Serai Market, Joo Chiat Complex. You definitely do not want to miss out the wide array of food available ranging from traditional food like kebab to Thai milk tea soft served and unicorn rainbow drink! There are over 1000 stalls and remember to dress as little as possible because I guarantee you that it is going to be crowded (on top of the horrendous weather). It would definitely be better if you bring along portable fan!

I just went and here are some photos that I took!!IMG_0510IMG_0517IMG_0519IMG_0528IMG_0538IMG_0549

#2. Visit the Singapore Night Festival:

Singapore Night Festival is an annual outdoor night event, usually, takes place over two weekends during August (dates TBC). It is usually held at Bras Basah and Bugis Precincts. This night festival is organised by National Museum of Singapore, and the locations include Armenian Street, Singapore Art Museum, National Museum of Singapore, Peranakan Museum and The Substation.

This night party is just like a massive party with various artistic and music performances, as well as various cultural exhibitions. This festival includes local and international performers and the best part of it is that it is FREE. You can bring along your loved ones to enjoy the artistic night scene in Singapore!

I missed this festival last year because I couldn’t find people to go with, so I will definitely go and check it out this year. Perhaps it will be just in time for a drink after attending this fun-filled event?

#3. Experiencing The Great Singapore Sale (GSS):

It is the annual event that all of us have been waiting for! GSS is a major event for shopaholics (like me) to purchase high quality goods at steep discounted prices, which can be up to 70%! GSS does not only apply to just physical stores, it is also available online such as lazada.com. Several hotels and restaurants (including Goodwood Park Hotel) might also be having their own discounts and promotions. The duration is from 9 June to 13 August so lets hold our hands together and have intense shopping session during this summer!

If you are wondering where are the shoppers’ heaven, heading down to Orchard Road will not get you any wrong. There are several places you can visit at Orchard Road if you are looking for luxury brands, designer clothes and latest fashion collections, which include Robinsons, The Paragon, TANGS, Takashimaya etc.

Another place to maximise your shopping experience is The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. There are various luxury brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Ralph Lauren as well as TWG at the centre of this shopping mall! Or you could visit VivoCity, the largest mall in Singapore and thus have almost everything you wanted to find!

#4. Café hopping in Johor Bahru:

Sick of the cafes in Singapore? Want to have a mini getaway but on a budget? Not to worry because there are a lot of new and interesting cafes across the causeway! There are various stunning cafes in JB that you must not miss out. Stay tuned for a review post that will be coming up after I am done with café hopping in JB! I really can’t wait to try out the food at those cafes that keep appearing on my Instagram explore feed. These cafes include Bev C’afe and Coffee Time. You can also check out Explodingbelly for JB café hopping guide!

Nearest MRT: Kranji

#5. Diving Trip to Pulau Tioman:

Guess what! What is summer without heading to a beach right?? Why not get an Open Water diving certificate so that you are able to see marine animals and plants?? It would be pointless to get past a summer without going to the beach or trying out something that is adventurous and fun! Furthermore, Tioman Island is one of the most beautiful islands on Earth and ringed by beaches, with various marine creatures. Visiting Tioman Island is also one of the ways to make your summer more interesting if you are on a tight budget!
